Abstract: There is a growing interest in second-hand products among both researchers and practitioners. Therefore, this study aims to explore the growth of the second-hand market in the literature to enlighten the literature development on the subject. In this respect, a bibliometric examination of research in the literature on the notion of the second-hand market from the past to the present was performed. A total of 235 documents were examined for the study. The results show that second-hand consumption has emerged as a new type of consumer behavior, and later examined as a business model in the literature, and with the increasing importance of sustainability in both academic and practical fields, it has become a considerable consumption style. Second-hand products created an important market with more emphasis on the sustainability aspect. The most frequently repeated term in studies on the second is circular economy. Studies on second-hand clothing, collaborative consumption, sharing economy, and reuse concepts have increased in the last few years. The findings are intended to benefit both the literature and second-hand retailers.
