Is this also true for cyber dating abuse perpetration (CDAP)? This study investigated the prevalence of and gender differences in self-reported CDAP and whether trust, anticipated partner infidelity, and jealousy serially mediated the association between anxious attachment and CDAP in a sample of Turkish college students. College students (N = 390) completed the Cyber Dating Violence Inventory, Anxious Attachment subscale of the Experiences in Close Relationship Scale-Short Form, Dyadic Trust Scale, Cognitive Jealousy subscale of the Multidimensional Jealousy Scale, Partners’ Intentions Towards Infidelity Scale, and a Demographic Information Form. A total of 67% of the sample used at least one cyber abusive behavior with their partner over the last 6 months. A multiple serial mediation model indicated that greater anxious attachment was related to more dyadic distrust, the anticipation of partner infidelity, and jealousy, and, in turn, to the use of cyber dating abuse. Overall, results show that the prevalence of CDAP is high and that attachment theory offers a promising framework for identifying predictors of CDAP in emerging adults. Here we investigated the motives that underlie support for COVID-19 preventive behaviours in a sample of 12,758 individuals from 34 countries. We hypothesized that the associations of empathic prosocial concern and fear of disease with support towards preventive COVID-19 behaviours would be moderated by trust in the government. Results suggest that the association between fear of disease and support for COVID-19 preventive behaviours was strongest when trust in the government was weak (both at individual- and country-level). Conversely, the association with empathic prosocial concern was strongest when trust in the government was high, but this moderation was only found at individual-level scores of governmental trust. Current guidelines recommend measuring tryptase in HVA patients and that those with mastocytosis pursue lifelong venom immunotherapy (VIT). Available data on HVA and mastocytosis largely derives from European single-center studies and the prevalence of HVA with and without mastocytosis in the United States (US) is unknown.Objective : We sought to determine the prevalence of HVA and mastocytosis in the US using an insurance claims database and evaluate the impact of mastocytosis on VIT in HVA patients in a US cohort. Methods :The IBM Watson Database, consisting of insurance claims from approximately 27 million US patients in 2018, was queried to identify patients with HVA and/or mastocytosis. Further, a retrospective study of 161 patients undergoing VIT between 2015 – 2018 at the University of Michigan (U-M) was conducted. Results :In the IBM Watson Database, the prevalence of HVA was 167 per 100,000 (0.167%) and the prevalence of mastocytosis 10 per 100,000 (0.010%) overall and 97 per 100,000 (0.097%) among those with HVA. Mastocytosis showed a 9.7-fold increase among HVA patients versus the general population. In the U-M cohort, 2.6% of VIT patients had mastocytosis. Tryptase level did not correlate with venom reaction severity but was higher in patients with systemic VIT reactions. Conclusions :We observed a lower US HVA prevalence than previously reported. Mastocytosis was more common in US HVA patients, though at lower rates than previously reported. In VIT patients there was no correlation between tryptase level and reaction severity. Furthermore, there remains a substantial gap in the existing body of research, particularly in the context of heterosexual, lesbian, gay, and bisexual plus (LGBi+) emerging adults in Türkiye. Therefore, this study aims to explore the mediating role of body appreciation in the relationship between self-compassion and disordered eating behaviors and the moderating role of sexual orientation (heterosexual and LGBi+) in the mediation among emerging adults. Methods: A diverse sample of participants comprising heterosexual (n = 242) and LGBi+ (n = 204) emerging adults (Mage = 22.18; SDage = 3.07; min = 18; max = 30) completed self-report measures of the Self-Compassion Scale, Body Appreciation Scale-2, and Eating Attitude Test-26. Results: The results of moderated meditation revealed that body appreciation mediated the relationship between self-compassion and disordered eating behaviors among both heterosexual and LGBi+ individuals. The quantification of communicative movements such as nodding, shaking, orienting, and backchanneling is significant in behavioral and mental health research. However, automated localization of such head movements within videos remains challenging in computer vision due to their arbitrary start and end times, durations, and frequencies. In this work, we introduce a novel and efficient coding system for head movements, grounded in Birdwhistell's kinesics theory, to automatically identify basic head motion units such as nodding and shaking. Our approach first defines the smallest unit of head movement, termed kine, based on the anatomical constraints of the neck and head. We then quantify the location, magnitude, and duration of kines within each angular component of head movement. Through defining possible combinations of identified kines, we define a higher-level construct, kineme, which corresponds to basic head motion units such as nodding and shaking. We validate the proposed framework by predicting autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis from video recordings of interacting partners. We show that the multi-scale property of the proposed framework provides a significant advantage, as collapsing behavior across temporal scales reduces performance consistently. Finally, we incorporate another fundamental behavioral modality, namely speech, and show that distinguishing between speaking- and listening-time head movements significantly improves ASD classification performance.
