Nato'nun Suriye Stratejisi

Abstract

Bu yazının amacı, aklın ve mantıgˆın geregˆi olarak sahip oldugˆu gu¨c¸lu¨ askeri ve lojistik imkan ve kabiliyetleri ile Suriye’de yas¸anan sorunun c¸o¨zu¨mu¨ ic¸in mu¨ttefiki Tu¨rkiye ile birlikte aktif bir s¸ekilde su¨rece dahil olması gereken NATO’nun, neden ve nasıl bugu¨ne kadar kararlı bir tutum takınmamıs¸ oldugˆunu anlamaya ve ac¸ıklamaya c¸alıs¸maktır. Bu amaca yo¨nelik olarak o¨nce NATO’nun ku¨resel siyasetteki yeri ve Ortadogˆu bo¨lgesine yo¨nelik bugu¨ne kadarki tutumu tanımlanacak, ardından Suriye krizi o¨zelinde I·ttifak’ın izledigˆi stratejinin Tu¨rkiye’nin gu¨venligˆine ve dıs¸ politikasına ne gibi etkileri oldugˆu degˆerlendirilecektir.

The aim of this paper is to try to understand and explain why and how NATO, which should have been involved actively in the process of the solution of the problems in Syria through using its strong military and logistical capabilities together with with its ally Turkey, has not adopted a decisive attitude heretofore. For this purpose, first NATO's place in global politics and its attitude toward the Middle East so far will be defined. Then, the impacts of the strategies pursued by the Alliance- particularly in Syrian crisis- on Turkey's security and foreign policy will be evaluated.
