Abstract
This study aims to examine which factors shape entrepreneurs' international entrepreneurial intentions in Türkiye within the framework of the Theory of Planned Behavior. The study empirically tests the effects of entrepreneurs' past international experience and their propensity for emerging technologies on their intentions through the three components of the theory: attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control. Data collected via a survey from 125 technology startup founders across Türkiye were analyzed. Findings indicate that propensity toward emerging technologies has positive and significant effects on the theory's components, whereas entrepreneurs' international experience does not have a statistically significant effect on these components. The components of the theory were shown to have a strong and positive impact on international entrepreneurial intentions. The research results indicate that in today's tech-driven era, aptitude for emerging technologies is a decisive factor in the formation of Turkish entrepreneurs' intentions to internationalize, rather than physical experiences. The study contributes to the international entrepreneurship literature by demonstrating that cognitive and technological orientations may outweigh traditional experiential factors in shaping international entrepreneurial intention.
