Publisher: | Springeropen | Abstract: | There is currently limited understanding of the effects of family-related factors on entrepreneurial activity. In this study, we aimed to explore characteristics of family systems among opportunity-driven entrepreneurs using a constructivist grounded theory methodology. In-depth interviews were conducted with 10 Turkish male entrepreneurs working in the technology industry and their wives. Analysis of these 20 interviews revealed a substantive conceptual model of entrepreneurs' family systems that comprised three themes reflecting the fundamentals of family life, namely marriage, the wife, and the husband. These themes included 11 categories. Our findings offer insights into the family patterns, dynamics, and demographics of entrepreneurs that have theoretical and practical implications. | URI: | https://doi.org/10.1007/s40497-024-00378-4 https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.11779/2267 |
