Then, the flow noise in household refrigerators is quantified using the results of the overall analysis and Fourier transform of the measured sound pressure data. After that, the flow noise in household refrigerators is quantified using the sound pressure measurements conducted using a specially designed test rig. The frequency characteristics of the flow noise in household refrigerators are also explored and the contribution of the flow noise is identified.Article 21. Bu makalede 9/11 terör saldırısı başta olmak üzere El Kaide adlı devlet dışı aktörün istismar ettiği kutsal savaş kavramının dini bir inşa olup olmadığı, İslam dini kapsamında bu inşanın ne kadar geçerlilik taşıdığı ve ABD’nin bu mücadeleyi hangi dini söylemlerle karşıladığı literatür taraması yöntemi ile analiz edilmektedir. Ayrıca, İslamiyet’in savaş ve cihat yaklaşımı da Kuran’da yer alan bazı ayetler ile ortaya konulmaktadır. Savaş hakkındaki Kuran’daki ilgili ayetler incelendiğinde öncelikle barışın en ideal durum olduğu, savaşmak isteyen gruplar olduğunda öncelikle arabuluculuk yapılması, savaş ve terörizm ateşinin söndürülmesi önemli buyruk ve tavsiyeler arasında yer almaktadır. MATLAB® was employed to generate a program that solves the governing heat transfer equation where development of thermo-physical concrete properties was defined as a function of degree of hydration. The rate of heat generation was obtained experimentally via adiabatic calorimetry and the activation energy was determined following the ASTM C 1074 procedure to implement equivalent age concept. 2D finite volume analysis results were presented in comparison with the recorded concrete temperatures from the field. The present study tested this prediction in 32 societies and also examines the role of wealth-based categorization in explaining this relationship. We found that people who perceived higher economic inequality were indeed more likely to consider wealth as a meaningful basis for categorization. Unexpectedly, however, higher levels of perceived inequality were associated with perceiving the wealthy as less competent and assertive and the poor as more competent and assertive. Unpacking this further, exploratory analyses showed that the observed tendency to stereotype the wealthy negatively only emerged in societies with lower social mobility and democracy and higher corruption. This points to the importance of understanding how socio-structural features that co-occur with economic inequality may shape perceptions of the wealthy and the poor. © 2022 The Authors. In this paper, we propose a model, which replicates the generative process of the mixed-membership stochastic block model (MMSB) within the generic allocation framework of Bayesian allocation model (BAM) and BAM-MMSB. In contrast to traditional blockmodels, BAM-MMSB considers the observations as Poisson counts generated by a base Poisson process and marks according to the generative process of MMSB. Moreover, the optimal number of communities for BAM-MMSB is estimated by computing the variational approximations of the marginal likelihood for each model order. Some of these adverse effects are increased travel times of cars, buses, bicycle users, pedestrians etc., with the addition of excessive greenhouse gas emissions. Transportation engineers and policy makers try to improve the quality of urban transportation systems by developing projects to enhance the pedestrian experience, reduce private car usage, reduce total time spent in the network through different control strategies, and diminish the detrimental effects. In this context, this study takes Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAVs) and pedestrians into account at signal-controlled intersections. A novel intersection signal control optimization methodology that incorporates pedestrian delays and vehicular emissions from CAVs is presented. Non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm-II is utilized to solve the multiobjective optimization problem. For the emission calculations, the MOVES3 emission model is utilized. The proposed framework is tested on real-world case study. Simulation experiments showed major improvements in pedestrian delays and lower emissions. © 2024 The Authors. Published by ELSEVIER B.V.Article A Bibliometric Analysis of Greenwashing and Firm Value(2025) Öz, Merve; Alagöz, Hilal Merve; Menderes, Cansu KorkmazPurpose – Greenwashing, traditionally a marketing concept, has gained increasing relevance in economics, finance, accounting, and law. As a result, bibliometric analyses on greenwashing have attracted growing scholarly interest. This study conducts a bibliometric analysis of the literature on greenwashing and firm value, identifying key trends, productive countries, institutions, influential authors, and collaborative networks while examining the relationship between greenwashing and firm value. Design/methodology/approach – Data were collected from the Web of Science (WoS) database through systematic searches. The analysis includes 473 publications from 2003 to 2024 in disciplines such as environmental sciences, business, management, finance, communication, and ethics. Among these, 170 studies explicitly address both greenwashing and firm value. Results – The findings indicate a substantial increase in research output, particularly after 2020, with nearly 50 publications per year by 2023. Sustainability, performance evaluation, and transparency emerge as dominant themes. While China leads in research output, European countries exhibit higher collaboration rates. Influential authors, such as Li W and Zhang D, and leading journals, including the Journal of Business Ethics, have significantly shaped the field. Thematic developments indicate a shift from management-centered discussions to a stronger emphasis on sustainability and financial performance. Discussion – The study provides theoretical and practical insights into the impact of greenwashing on firm value, offering implications for managers, stakeholders, policymakers, and researchers. While greenwashing remains a relatively new research area, its scholarly attention is expanding rapidly. Bu doğrultuda literatürde ikinci el pazarı kavramı üzerine geçmişten günümüze yapılan çalışmalar üzerinden bibliyometrik bir analiz yapılmıştır. Çalışma için toplam 235 doküman incelenmiştir. Sonuçlar ikinci el tüketimin yeni bir tüketici davranışı türü olarak ortaya çıktığını ve daha sonra literatürde bir iş modeli olarak incelendiğini ve sürdürülebilirliğin hem akademik hem de uygulama alanlarında artan önemi ile birlikte hatırı sayılır bir tüketim şekli haline geldiğini göstermektedir. İkinci el ürünler stil ve sürdürülebilirlik yönünü daha fazla vurgulayan önemli bir pazar yaratmıştır. İkinci el üzerine yapılan çalışmalarda en sık tekrarlanan terim döngüsel ekonomidir. İkinci el giyim, işbirlikçi tüketim, paylaşım ekonomisi ve yeniden kullanım konularında yapılan çalışmalar son yıllarda artış göstermiştir Sonuçların hem literatüre hem de ikinci el perakendecilerine katkı sağlaması beklenmektedir.Article A Comparative Analysis on the Relationship Between Institutional Environment and Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies(2018) Karadağ, HandeInstitutional environment plays an important role in the quality and nature of entrepreneurial activities and the development of entrepreneurship ecosystem. The aim of this research is to evaluate institutional factors of selected emerging markets with Global Entrepreneurship and Development Index data. Findings of the study indicate that Turkey has one of the lowest scores among other emerging markets for the institutional variable of staff training and also has comparably low scores in venture capital, business strategy, and technology transfer. Results of the study show that except South Korea, all the selected economies have scored low on the institutional variable of gross domestic expenditure on research and development as a percentage of the gross domestic product. Researchers from diverse fields have consistently employed MCDM techniques, utilizing both traditional and novel methods to enhance the discipline. Acknowledging the significance of staying abreast of such methodological developments, this study endeavors to contribute to the field through a comprehensive review of several novel weighting-based methods: CILOS, IDOCRIW, FUCOM, LBWA, SAPEVO-M, and MEREC. Each method is scrutinized in terms of its characteristics and steps while also drawing upon publications extracted from the Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus databases. Through bibliometric and content analyses, this study delves into the trend, research components (sources, authors, countries, and affiliations), application areas, fuzzy implementations, hybrid studies (use of other weighting and/or ranking methods), and application tools for these methods. A growing number of architecture programs of universities incorporates fabrication to the educational environment, and even to the curriculum. Fabrication technology is now considered among the set of tools students are expected to acquire a basic knowledge of and skills in. Nevertheless, the pedagogical potential of fabrication in communicating traditions of making is underused in an oversight of the continuity of the relevant know-how. Our position is that traditions of making can be the subject matter of fabrication with the objective to remedy the role of fabrication tools in architectural history, sustainable architectural production, and in the field of digital heritage. In order to develop effective vaccine uptake interventions, we need to understand the extent to which vaccine hesitancy fluctuates and identify factors associated with both between- and within-person differences in vaccine hesitancy. The goals of the current study were to assess the extent to which COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy varied at an individual level across time and to determine whether disgust sensitivity and germ aversion were associated with between- and within-person differences in COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy. A national sample of U.S. adults (N = 1025; 516 woman; M-age = 46.34 years, SDage = 16.56, range: 18 to 85 years; 72.6 % White) completed six weekly online surveys (March 20 - May 3, 2020). Between-person mean COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy rates were relatively stable across the six-week period (range: 38-42 %). However, there was considerable within-person variability in COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy. Approximately, 40 % of the sample changed their vaccine hesitancy at least once during the six weeks. There was a significant between-person effect for disgust sensitivity, such that greater disgust sensitivity was associated with a lower likelihood of COVID-19 vaccine hesitance. There was also a significant within-person effect for germ aversion. Participants who experienced greater germ aversion for a given week relative to their own six week average were less likely to be COVID-19 vaccine hesitant that week relative to their own six-week average. This study provides important information on rapidly changing individual variability in COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy on a weekly basis, which should be taken into consideration with any efforts to decrease vaccine hesitancy and increase vaccine uptake. Caner; Pamuk, BahadırWe consider an uncapacitated lot sizing problem in co-production systems, in which it is possible to produce multiple items simultaneously in a single production run. Each product has a deterministic demand to be satisfied on time. The decision is to choose which items to co-produce and the amount of production throughout a predetermined planning horizon. We show that the lot sizing problem with co-production is strongly NP-Hard. Then, we develop various mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) formulation of the problem and show that LP relaxations of all MILPs are equal. We develop a separation algorithm based on a set of valid inequalities, lower bounds based on a dynamic lot-sizing relaxation of our problem and a constructive heuristic that is used to obtain an initial solution for the solver, which form the basis of our proposed Branch & Cut algorithm for the problem. In this paper, a Contrast Source Inversion method based microwave imaging scheme is proposed and tested for the detection of pulmonary edema and hemorrhage. To this end, a realistic human torso phantom is used, and the electromagnetic parameters of the human tissues is determined via Cole-Cole model. The scattered field is simulated via Method of Moments at the operating frequency of 350 MHz, and a 50 dB white Gaussian noise is added to model a realistic measurement setup. The numerical tests performed with the proposed technique suggest that the method can be used to locate the pulmonary edema and hemorrhage, and it is capable of distinguishing these two medical conditions successfully.Article Citation - WoS: 5Citation - Scopus: 6A New Approach for Measuring Viscoelastic Properties of Soft Materials Using the Dynamic Response of a Spherical Object Placed at the Sample Interface(Springer, 2023) Besli, Ayça; Koç,Ömer Hayati; Körük,Hasan; Yurdaer, Berk SalihBackground: There are several techniques to characterize the mechanical properties of soft materials, such as the indentation method and the method based on the application of a spherical object placed inside the sample. The indentation systems usually yield the elastic properties of materials and their mathematical models do not consider the inertia of the sample involved in motion and radiation damping, while placing an object inside the sample is not practical and this procedure can alter the mechanical properties of the sample for the method based on the application of a bubble/sphere placed inside the sample. Objective: A new approach for the identification of the viscoelastic properties of soft materials using the dynamic response of a spherical object placed at the sample interface was proposed. Methods: The spherical object placed at the sample interface was pressed using an electromagnet and the dynamic response of the spherical object was tracked using a high-speed camera, while the dynamic response of the spherical object placed at the sample interface was estimated using a comprehensive analytical model. The effects of the shear modulus, viscosity, Poisson’s ratio and density of the soft sample, the radius and density of the spherical object and the damping due to radiation were considered in this mathematical model. The shear modulus and viscosity of the soft sample were determined by matching the experimentally identified and theoretically estimated responses of the spherical object. Results: The shear moduli and viscosities of the three phantoms with the gelatin mass ratios of 0.20, 0.25 and 0.29 were measured to be 3450, 4300 and 4950 Pa and 12.5, 14.0 and 15.0 Pa⋅s, respectively. The shear modulus and viscosity of the phantom increases as the gelatin mass ratio increases. The frequency of oscillations of the hemisphere placed at the phantom interface increases as the gelatin mass ratio increases due to stiffness increase. Conclusions: After matching the experimental and theoretical steady-state displacements and amplitudes of oscillations of the hemisphere at the sample interface, the comparison of the experimentally identified and theoretically predicted frequency of oscillations further confirmed the identified material properties of the samples. Formulation of the composite triangular shell element is based on stacking individual homogeneous triangular shell ele- ments on top of each other. The homogeneous shell element is an assembly of a triangular membrane element with drilling degrees of freedoms and a plate element. Damping capability is provided by means of complex element stiffness matrix of individual flat layers of the composite element. These elements with damping capability allow modelling general structures with damping treatments. A few test cases are modelled using triangular finite element developed here and the results of the complex eigenvalue analyses are compared with those of the quadrilateral shell elements proposed recently. The results obtained using the presented triangular and previous quadrilateral composite elements are also com- pared with those based on modal strain energy method and experimental results. The aim of this study is to analyze the relationship between personal history of communicable, i.e., infectious and parasitic diseases and self-rated health. Study design: Secondary analysis of a large dataset multi-country observational study. Methods: We used a four-pronged analysis approach to investigate whether personal history of infectious and parasitic diseases is related to self-reported health, measured with a single item. Results: Three of the four analyses found a small positive effect on self-reported health among those reporting a history of pathogen exposure. The meta-analysis found no support but large heterogeneity that was not reduced by two classifications of countries. Illustratively, we present reliability in the context of contracts with asymmetric information. The model shows how to overcome information rents through price distortions and quantity rationing. The paper ends with a conclusion and an outlook to future studies.Article Citation - WoS: 1Citation - Scopus: 1Acoustic Cavitation Model Based on a Novel Reduced Order Gas Pressure Law(2021) Pasinlioğlu, Şenay; Delale, Can FuadThe thermal behavior of a spherical gas bubble in a liquid excited by an acoustic pressure signal is investigated by constructing an iterative solution of the energy balance equations between the gas bubble and the surrounding liquid in the uniform pressure approximation. This iterative solution leads to hierarchy equations for the radial partial derivatives of the temperature at the bubble wall, which control the temporal rate of change of the gas pressure and gas temperature within the bubble. In particular, a closure relation for the hierarchy equations is introduced based on the ansatz that approximates the rapid change of state during the collapse of the bubble from almost isothermal to almost adiabatic behavior by time averaging the complex dynamics of change of state over a relatively short characteristic time. This, in turn, leads to the desired reduced order gas pressure law exhibiting power law dependence on the bubble wall temperature and on the bubble radius, with the polytropic index depending on the isentropic exponent of the gas and on a parameter that is a function of the Péclet number and a characteristic time scale. Results of the linear theory for gas bubbles are recovered by identifying this parameter as a function of the Péclet number based on the Minnaert frequency. The novel gas pressure law is then validated against the near-isothermal solution and against the results of the numerical simulations of the original energy balance equations for large amplitude oscillations using spectral methods. Consequently, an acoustic cavitation model that accounts for phase change but that neglects mass diffusion is constructed by employing the reduced order gas pressure law together with the Plesset–Zwick solution for the bubble wall temperature and the Keller–Miksis equation for spherical bubble dynamics. Results obtained using variable interface properties for acoustically driven cavitation bubbles in water show that the time variations of the bubble radius and the bubble wall temperature lie between those obtained by the isothermal and adiabatic laws depending on the value of the Péclet number and the characteristic time scale.
